Services

• Loan service
          All the documents of University Library are bar-coded.  This helps the circulation desk in the check in check out process.  New members are given bar-coded Identity card and in future documents will be issued on production of the Identity card. This service ends one hour before the closing of the library.

• Inter-Library Loan
          Members of the library can borrow books from other libraries through this service.

• Literature Search
          Literature search on various topics will be done on the databases on demand.

• Reference Service
          Cochin University Library has built up balanced and rich collection on all branches of Sciences and Technology for reference.

• Proficiency Corner
          It is one of the main attraction of the central library, which is a special collection set up for users who are preparing for competitive examinations, like TOFEL, GRE, NET, SLET, GATE, Civil Service examination etc

• Compilation of Bibliographies
          Compilation of bibliographies on various subjects will be done on request.

• Reprographic service
          Reprographic service is being offered to faculty members and students at nominal rate.

• Document Delivery Service
          Copies of articles will be made available on request.

• Conference Alert Service
          Forthcoming conferences, workshops and seminars will be displayed in the Library notice board.

• New Addition Alert Service
          New additions in the central library will be alerted to all CUSAT users by email.

• Patent Information
          Central Library is a depository of Indian Patents. 28,000 odd patents form an important part of the special collection. 

• Consultancy Service
          Technical expertise will be provided for setting up of Library / documentation / technical information centers to industries and institutions.

• Internet Service
          12 systems are dedicated for internet service in University Library on the first come first served basis and spot booking for a minimum of 1 hour.

• CD ROM Search
          3 systems, including a multimedia system are provided for CD ROM search service.  Library has a good collection of multimedia encyclopedias and dictionaries and more than one hundred and fifty CD’s of books on different subject fields. 

• Information Desk
          This automated service provides ready references to all your information needs.
