Membership

Membership of the library is open to regular Teachers, Students, Research Scholars and Non-teaching staff of the University.  Graduates of recognized Universities of three years standing who are residents in Greater Cochin Development Area could also take membership (Graduate membership). Industrial and Research institutions, Government or Public Limited institutions are admitted to Institutional membership on the responsibility of the head of the concerned institution.  However, the final decision rests with the University to permit outside member – Individual / Institutional. No one can acquire membership under more than one category.

Non-members can also use the library on all working days between 9.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. except Second Saturdays and Sundays by remitting a nominal fee after getting permission from the University Librarian.  Permission can be refused without stating any specific reasons.

All categories of members except institutional members should submit two stamp size photographs along with duly filled in and recommended application form. Membership card can be collected seven days from the date of submission of application. 

Who can recommend:

    Students/ Research scholars/ Teachers  :  Head of the Department

    Non Teaching Staff                               :  Registrar / Head of the Department

    Graduate Members                             :  Gazatted officers of CUSAT, other than Library Staff. All responsibilities including financial, will be vested upon the gazatted officer. Persons with less than one year to retire are not eligible.

    Institutional Members                            :   Director / Head of institution.

Fee Structure

Fee can be remitted either in cash at library office or in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of University Librarian payable at SBT Thrikkakara.

    Subscription                :           Rs 100/-
  • consultancy / orientation service                       :           Rs 1000/- for a batch of more than 25 students
                                                                                       Rs 500/- for a batch of less than 25 students
  •   Electronic Services to non-members              :          

                        a)         Scanning journals on CD for one year issue       : Rs. 25/-

                        b)         CD search                                                        : Rs. 50/- per CD

                        c)          Print out charge of Rs. 5/- per page for library members and non-members.

  • Copy in floppy is provided on request of the users:  Rs. 25/- per floppy.
